Drama / Singing / Dance - developing creativity and performance skills, to an excellent standard with a focus on drama as self-development. Established in 1999 the Theatre School meets once a week in each area during term time. Summer Schools are offered and we perform at regular intervals throughout the year.  Previous productions include 'Oliver!' at the Grand Theatre, 'Joseph' at the Pontardawe Arts Centre, 'Les Miserables' at the Taliesin Theatre and Disney's 'High School Musical' at the Grand Theatre. Jill Williams also directs and choreographs the Pantomime at Pontardawe Arts Centre for Neath/Port Talbot Council. Last year's show was Aladdin while Sleeping Beauty will be the panto for 2008. Modern, Tap. I have been teaching for 53 years and I'm now teaching the grandchildren of former pupils. Pupils have a lot of stage experience, appearing in Pantomime for 5 weeks every year and also at the Grand Theatre with Alex Frith and three dance festivals. Counterpoint is an established Performing Arts School with a strong Classical foundation. We offer several different styles of ACTING CLASSES. Most classes are based on improvisation and general stage craft. These lessons develop a variety of acting skills through devising scenes and creating characters. Other drama classes are based on scripted work. DANCE CLASSES offer a more traditional style of dance for stage. Classes are generally divided into age groups. SINGING CLASSES - our singing classes aim to develop technique and cover both popular music and stage musicals. Close harmonies and choral work. The School boasts a strong choir. AUDITION TECHNIQUE: Audition technique is another string to the bow and such an important one to have in the competitive world of entertainment. Mark Jermin offers the opportunity to participate in GCSE DRAMA EXAMINATIONS. This is a one year course (as opposed to the usual two year state school option.) The minimum age for students is 12-13 years. The Stage School boasts some amazing and excellent GCSE results - 100% pass rate with students from the School gaining the highest performance and written marks. Mark Jermin students have the opportunity of gaining professional experience and work via the MARK JERMIN MANAGEMENT AGENCY. This is a service that is only offered to students who train at the Stage School.

The Kabaret Kidz performing arts clubs are based in Communities First areas within Ammanford, Hendy and Llanelli, with a new group starting in Carmarthen. The groups exist to help build confidence and self esteem in children and young people through song, dance and comedy. There are no auditions and no competitions, just a great emphasis on fun! We give children of all ages and abilities a chance to perform without fear of criticism or rejection and everybody is welcome to attend.

Development through Drama. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy aims to promote confidence and communication skills through a unique drama curriculum which is lots of fun! All teachers are energetic, qualified school-teachers. We have classes for 5-8 year olds, 9-11 year olds and Youth Theatre for 12-17 year olds. Autumn and Spring terms focus on speech, movement and creative improvisations. This leads into the Summer Production term when all classes rehearse a scripted play for presentation to parents and friends! Our Academy is International, there are over 40 branches in the UK alone. The Performance Factory is a place where children can come and participate in a wide range of performance activities. Where they have the freedom to create, individually or as part of a group. To explore characters and world wide issues. To convey narrative, tell stories, look at themes, experience emotions within the context of a play, musical or devised piece of work. All this in a friendly professional environment under the supervision of our experienced facilitators - who have worked in professional theatre and television. They are all highly skilled (having trained at some of the best institutes in the UK) and police checked. Our aim is to produce a working progress that the children can appreciate as an achieved objective. Whether that be a simple in-house sharing of work or a full-blown public perfomance. Children's musical theatre, classic and contemporary theatre / drama. Various dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop/street jazz etc. The Prelude Theatre Arts School is dedicated to the progress and enjoyment of its students. We aim to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere within which a child can improve natural talents, encouraging the development of many new abilities. These will provide a sound basis for a career in the performing arts and also encourage character-building skills for use in later life. Classes are kept small so your child won't get lost in a crowd and all then have ample opportunity for performance in the numerous shows the school works towards throughout the year. Our Summer school in August is also extremely popular and culminates with a hit musical performance in the Princess Royal Theatre. Prelude also have branches in Pyle and Llanelli. These classes are on Friday, Wednesday and Sunday. They offer Musical Theatre classes for students aged 4 - 18 covering singing, acting and dancing of all styles. All students have the opportunity to perform in the Christmas Show in the Princess Royal Theatre as well as their own school performance in their rehearsal space. The School runs three 12 week terms a year with no half term break. Entry is offered by application form. Class sizes are limited to 15 pupils and places are given strictly on a first come first served basis. The main school offers classes for ages 6-16, and Early Stages caters for the 3-6's. It is a safe, fun environment in which children learn without realising. Each term has different objectives: Autumn Term sees us preparing a presentation of class work to the parents. Our Spring Term is a closed term, in which the children work only on perfecting their skills. The Summer Term is our 'Show Term' in which we produce a larger piece for parents to enjoy. Workshops during the holidays cater for all ages. Stagecoach is open to all and the performing arts skills taught are skills for life - as well as suitable for young people with an interest in performing arts, whatever their ability. For those with talent, the training can provide an excellent starting point for a professional career.
